Emamectin Benzoate 5% WG User Guide
1. Product Overview: Emamectin Benzoate 5% WG (Water-Dispersible Granules) is an insecticide derived from the avermectin family, used to control various pests, particularly caterpillars, in crops like vegetables, fruits, cotton, and tea. It is highly effective due to its translaminar action and systemic properties.
2. Mode of Action: Emamectin Benzoate works by stimulating the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the pest’s nervous system. This disrupts nerve impulses, causing paralysis and ultimately the death of the insect. It is effective against larvae stages and offers long-lasting protection.
3. Target Pests:
- Lepidoptera (caterpillars, moths, etc.)
- Thrips
- Borers
- Leaf miners
4. Application Rates:
- Vegetable Crops (Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower): 0.4 – 0.5 gm per liter of water.
- Cotton: 0.3 – 0.4 gm per liter of water.
- Tea: 0.3 – 0.4 gm per liter of water.
- Fruits (Apples, Grapes): 0.4 – 0.5 gm per liter of water.
Follow specific recommendations for different crops, as application rates may vary depending on pest severity and crop type.
